<p>Dandapani is a Hindu priest, entrepreneur and a former monk of 10 years. After graduating he left it all behind to become a Hindu monk under the guidance of one of Hinduism’s foremost spiritual leaders of our time, Sivaya Subramuniyaswami. For 10 years he lived a life of serious personal discipline and training at his guru’s cloistered Hindu monastery in Hawaii.</p>

<p>I highly recommend doing the meditation and the task at the beginning of the day, if possible. It changes the course of the day! But anytime is better than no time, so commit whenever works best for you.</p>



<p>*Task* </p>



<p>In a notebook, make a list of 50 people that have influenced your life. They can be both living and already departed people, your relatives, friends, teachers, coaches and celebrities, writers, musicians and personalities whom you do not necessarily know personally. Everyone who has influenced you, and contributed to your growth &amp; development. The list must have at least 50 names. In the process of making a list, think about why you chose the person. What has changed in your life for the better? Move calmly and thoughtfully. Remember the best things about each person in the list and what they bring into your life. Trust in the process! </p>



<p>I recommend putting the phone in airplane/do not disturb mode at this time so that no one will interfere with you. Your list may be more than 50 people. But not less! </p>



<p>PHRASE OF THE DAY: * Today I behold the abundance that surrounds me * </p>



<p>This should also be written in your notebook and remembered during the day as often as possible.</p>



<p>*Meditation* The meditation can be done before or after the task. It&#8217;s up to you! </p>

<p>Wake up every morning with your first thought being, “Something amazingly awesome is going to happen today.” Say it out loud for that double punch so the universe definitely knows what’s up. That’s a little tip from Pam Grout’s book <em>Thank and Grow Rich</em>. (Link down below, bless yourself by reading it!)&nbsp;</p>



<p>Next thought, set an intention for the day. It feels so nice to have your mind set on something healthy and productive, something you can take your focus back to if things like anxiety pop up. Not gonna lie, some days I feel like being extremely lazy, or taking a mental day off and not carpe’n any diem. When that’s the case, I make my intention to be SUPER present, or to really focus on being myself and listening to what my heart says. It’s simple but I feel like it’s a constructive habit for my psyche rather than submitting to that blahhh feeling.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Yoga doesn’t always sound like a good idea in the mornings. When that’s the case, stretching for ten minutes is better than nothing. Stretching for 10 seconds is better than nothing. And even if you still do nothing, the world will keep spinning anyways.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Mornings are important, when you have a super ballin one it seems like the rest of the day flows so good. If you ever feel like giving up on the day 30 minutes in, start listing things your thankful for in your head. It’s really hard to be a cranky brat when you realize how BLESSED you are just to be alive and see the sunshine. Seriously, what if you lost your eyesight tomorrow? Our blessings go on and on and on and on&nbsp;</p>



<p>Lastly, sometimes it’s fun to smile in your liver. In <em>Eat, Pray, Love </em>Elizabeth Gilbert shares with us the wisdom of a Balinese healer, Ketut Liyer. He tells her to smile the bad energy away, smile in your face, mind, and you guessed it, your liver. It’s a cute little meditation to do to guarantee a little posi vibes.</p>

<p>Chakras are energetic entities where your physical and consciousness meet, an energy also referred to as Prana. Your chakras keep your mind, body and spirit balanced, playing a huge role in life since any congestion can disrupt your whole body resulting in various types of pain.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The most recognized chakras include your root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown. </p>



<p>Originating in India, chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disk. Everything in this world, in this life, is connected. We are all one transient mass of swirling energy because we’re all created from the same thing. There is no separating us. Our chakras are reminders of that and symbolic to that importance as well. It’s important to keep them balanced in the flow of life, a lesson we can apply to ourselves and the world around us. </p>



<p>When you think about it that way, it’s easy to see how important it is to take care of yourself. Chakras are very real and there’s a world of knowledge to be discovered about them. Educate yourself, live free.&nbsp;</p>
